So today I went out to putah creek today for my first time. It runs from lake Berryessa to the yolo bypass recreation area. I launched at the parking lot just off old Davis road. The creek is very slow moving and somewhat hard to assess, it's perfect for a smaller sized yak. I fished from first light to about 10:30 I olnly cought 3 little bass, all came on a drop shot. I'm wondering if anyone has fished that creek before? I talked to a guy fishing the shore and he swars he sees big bass in there all the time. I'm going to head out again sometime soon if anyone wants to go exploring.

It's buried deep in the www but the info for bass in lower Putah can be found.  Years ago there were a ton of them well above Winters but I haven't fished up there in ages.

You were in the right section of the creek for the more recent reports (4-5 years back) that I've seen.  If you like spiders you should try further up near the Stevenson bridge.  Thousands of giant spiders that have webs which seem to span the creek.

Kraken 13.5 on the Great lakes.
