Last month a guy got hit by a great white off Santa Barbara while spear fishing. Reported it and then drove to the hospital. This guy got lucky out of belief.

Holy shit!  Having something in his hands had to have been the difference between life and death. Also it's coming along the surface; I always had the thought they'd come up like a torpedo from below.

I just watched Shallows last night.
Though there are many unrealistic aspects of that movie,
it made me think long and hard about what's in these water.
