ok were on, That 1st monkey was hooked up with a 8' monster, they also catght a 68" and a 63" on pile worms, I was using roe, don't use roe. pedaled 2 miles, if your lazy there is a hole about 1000 yards north of the launch, saw giant sturgeon jumping there on the way back.

This is a very kool area, but it's a huge area.....Danglin

I'm game for Wensday, tide is a little later with weather warm, don't know how that will change things if @ all,

The spot is Belden's Landing, Hwy 12 out of Suison City,  if comming from I80, go east onto HWY 12 to wards Rio Vista and Right turn  (Left turn if coming from Rio Vista) onto Grizzly Island rd ( Jack in the box on corner) takes you directly to the launch site that is just before the "funky" bridge going over Montezuma slough, can't miss it, there is not much else out there, $5.00 machine pay.....Danglin

Way to go Don.... That guy on the PB looks like he's working it ....So what were you using for the striper? Might have to change up from Berkley to the Delta. Isn't it great to have these types of dilema's!! Will call Insane and talk it over today.

For stripers, sardines are pretty much a "sure thing", filet of sardines are also a perfered sturgeon bait. The two sturgeon hits I got were on old stale sardines. As far as sturgeon baits, the guys hooking up were on pile worms, regulars I talked to have been catching them on Ghost. I'm bringing everything. I have frozen Ghost and grass/sardines, picking up pile worms. These guys had pretty big bait balls of pile worms on the hook.

I am going back tomarrow morning.....High tide @ 11:30..Think I'll be @ the launch between 9 and 9:30... Going to pedal the 2 miles again...

CH 68..68 is what the PB are on...Danglin

Nice fish and report of a launch area Don!! putting the OPTIO to dam GOOD use, bra.

Never thought that slough had a CLOSE enough launch for a YAK.
i read in the reports that Montezuma is #1 in holding stripers when there hard to find elsewhere, and it is sheltered from the wind also!(word from the dock)
