I may buy a new truck to pull our travel trailer and I am looking for ideas on how to carry my yaks. I am thinking lumber rack or alike; however, I want to put a tonnnau cover over the bed and that may prohibit mounting one or the other. I once saw in a parking lot a truck that had something mounted from the front of the truck that looked like it lowered the yaks from the front. Anyone been down this road.
Thanks,  :smt001

Contact Bill (Snapperhead), he has a rack that carries the yaks over the cab and hood allowing him to pull his 5th wheel also

1) If you install a front mount hitch
2) Install something like this in the front hitch:
https://www.amazon.com/Tricam-SLE-1-Extender-350-Pound-Capacity/dp/B00HDL2DX6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1473174484&sr=8-3&keywords=kayak+hitch+rack

3) The rear would be on your cab on a regular Thule/Yakima bar.

Hope that helps.

If you wanted to spend the cheddar have a metal shop custom fab a lumber rack that sits flat on the bed rails and comes around the tonneau cover similar to the ones wrapped around a canopy. Could they ride on the travel trailer?
