I dont have the Ram one, but it looks like you can move it around easier . The Scotty looks like it is fixed, and we harder to move around.

I've used to RAM one and have had no problems with it.  It will also swing up if it hits something like a rock or stump as long as you don't have it cranked down too tight.

They are all noisy because you're dragging the transducer through the water. Also they catch debris all the time.

I have the mad frog arm for use on my SIK, on my SOT I shoot thru the hull.

Works well, as far as noise while I'm fishing I'm usually going so slow that it doesn't matter, when underway to a different spot I usually flip it up out of the water. I only slightly submerge it, so algae and grass don't get caught too badly.

I use this one, works well for me.  It is adjustable (angle and length), easy to pull out of water, Plus, it comes with a gear head, you can mount something on it.

I've used the Ram for 4 years on my AI hull. Works great, does make some noise if deployed while underway.  I would recommend.

Why not just mount it inside the hull and shoot through the hull? You'll be fine if you do it right and it's really simple not to mention you don't have to hassle with the arm or transducer being in the way... Ever!
