Yes, really.  It can take me 45 minutes to set up kayak and rods and bait and they are still there

On Monday with the bigger tide, 15 more min and those guys would not have been able to launch, so made sure I was not in the way. Once it was light it was all mud, kayak only!

There is one other detail regarding sharing the Tomales launch and maintaining good relations. In addition to my kayak which I launch there,  I have drift boat with a motor which I launch at Tomales sometimes for crab.    For the folks with trailer launched power boats there are only a limited number of spots to park a car with trailer.  One of the most frustrating things is getting there anxious to make a tide, and being unable to park due to  trailer spots filled with single cars, some tourists and some kayak guys.  It is really hard to park anywhere else with a trailer.  There are a lot of places on the hill to park a car if there are no single car spots left in the lot.  Let's all help each other out!

I have never kayak in Tomale Bay. Is it pretty good for beginners? And can I just drift frozen anchovies ? :/ I no have live well. I'm thinking drift using a three way swivel, 3/0 circle hook and 2 oz weight?

Don't forget the valet parked cars from Nick's filling up the parking on the hill.   Had to park in the ditch next to the highway today.

The only times I've seen the ramp clogged with yaks it's been the commercial guys. They bring in 8-10 kayaks on a trailer and park right at the top of the ramp and sit in the way for an hour while they are setting up or taking down. It drives me nuts because I set up my Tandem Island in the lot then try to launch quickly to get out of the way. They really do act like they own the place.

+!

Last Sunday, there was a group of 3 cars who just blocked the ramp while they were loading and dressing up.  :smt013

No, just regular paddlers.

The first time I put in at Nick's a couple of weeks ago, this is exactly what I saw.  The clients had their cars all over the place in front of the ramp.  Obviously, noobs from "The Big City" out for some adventure.  It's a tough topic, as I firmly believe we need as much political and fiscal support for places like TB, but being aware of local customs and proper etiquette needs to be part of the equation.  All that "support" also = more people at our sites -- not an easy trade-off.

Were the folks blocking the ramp getting dressed apologetic when you mentioned it?
