Nice pic, Danglin.  I used to take alot of Pigeon Pt. shots (pre-digital, so "alot" is relative...) when I lived down there in the early 90's.  It's a cool spot.  Can't wait for May 1st here too.

Danglin, this guy cant wait either, seriously though, I'm really wantin to fish this spot early in the year but its real risky, ever notice how there are never any kayaks or surfers in this area???  I might pull an extra kayak around with me so I have something to paddle back to shore in.   JTF..

Why wait til May? Go down there with some frozen squid and a handfull of sinkers + hooks and catch some tasty rockfish this wknd! And don't forget the mussels.

I've done this many times already, one of my favorite shore fishin spots.  Its unbelievable the numbers of fish I've caught both on rocks or over sand.  I'm sure it would be insane from the yak. 

I just remember readin bluekayaks story about free divin here and how one of his buddys had a close call.  Although, I do remember seein pics from 2 years ago he took while trollin for salmon out there.  I'm sure with a small group if we stuck close to each other it would be alright.  Unless, of course, momma landlord brought the whole family for the party. 

That does it!  Opening weekend, i'm there!  Danglin, your gonna have to change your sig to "Landlord! Landlord!"  JTF..

May should be safer there as compared to oct-march. Even April, though the landlord can be anywhere at anytime, the concentratin in this area falls after March.

I'll keep checking with my party boat guys as to the conditions off Pigeon.  I have had epic salmon fishing days there, with vast clouds of krill, whales jumping all over the place, and non stop action with crazed Krill salmon.  (It's like pcp to them or something, lots of short bites and terrific fights with the krill fish)
