Hi all,

I am wondering if anybody has experience on this? I am considering both Yaks (mainly for Ocean fishing) and I am wondering if the Outback with the installed sidekick would give me similar/ better standing abilities than the PA14 without. Also I am wondering if the Sidekicks would increase the stability so that I could install a little camping chair on the back of the Outback to take my gf (130pounds) with me occasionally.

Thanks for your thoughts!

You don't really want two adults on an outback.

I have a PA14. I do not recommend the chair on tha back
for standing, I dont stand on the open ocean unless extemely calm.
I fly fish off of it for stipers and find it stable bothe right and left side casting.
Heavy to wheel around especially down the beach. Need 2 people to carry it down stairs and SWS.
I am extremely happy with the kayak and it keeps up with all the rest of the boys and girls out on the water.
I hope that helps
PM if any more question

I'd think you could take them off and secure them before landing.

Btw, I've ad 2 people on my Adventure/Revo 16, but not something I'd do often...

Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

My PA14 back deck is large enough for a sand beach chair back-to-back with my chair for my wife to go for a ride.  Not on the ocean, lakes.

So far my PA14 has been stable enough to withstand anything I've taken it on the ocean, and I've been out in some stuff that was pretty gnarly and still be able to stand and pee.  Ha!  The H-bar on the PA can be a great assist as well, but I rarely use it.

The big negative on the PA is it's sheer weight.  What makes it so stable on water, a wide body and a ballast that keeps it from bobbing too much, is a real pig on land.  It's manageable even for a 60 year old guy such as myself, but I know some day it will be too much and I'll have to downsize to something that is easier to haul up and down a beach.

I have tested the PA12 with my gf on board. Without a problem she or I can sit on  the back. So I think it would be even less of a problem on the PA14.

My main question though is if the Sidearms would bring the stabilization of the Outback on the same level as the PA14. If so, then I think I could bring her on the Outback as well occasionally. Especially having seen the video with the Adventure Revo 16. Though I have to admit that this is borderline. ;)
