Hello! I am new, and I told my friend yesterday to sign up. That was about 24 hours ago and he has not been approved. I was approved in about 2 hours. Does it just vary?

Just asking because he just texted me "I don't think they're going to approve me man" haha.

If I remember correctly, mine took a lil bit as well and so was a buddy of mine. Mess with him a little bit. Tell him he needs to undergo further evaluation; urine and blood work, psyche eval, the works since his application is suspicious

We need to do a throughout background checks 

yeah, the anxious get delayed.  Its a test to see if they can handle the personalities on the forum.  If the moderators smell fear they make the applicant wait an additional week while doing a full DNS review and web browser history analysis.  If anything funny turns up (like inflatable sheep) then Fishmaster1 gets a first pass at them when they show up to their first event.  If nothing interesting shows up they get ambushed by a BigJim handshake, eventually.
