I just sat here and wrote a stinkin' book of a report, but my photos screwed up on upload and I ended up losing all my text!   :smt013

Anyway, it was long and detailed, but now I have to go home and go to bed.

I went back to the Cove today because I had an appointment in Redway anyway, the ocean was flat, and the word was the bite was on.  I had strikes and a fish on and lost then hooked up and boated a 10 pound 2 ounce 30"er in 2.5 hours of trolling.  Saw other fish landed by powerboaters and saw and heard of several limits taken.  All action just this side of the bell at 40 - 45 pulls on a DeepSix with an anchovie.  No wind, top down, great day.  Also caught a little blue, a big blue, and a little hotdog ling of around 18".

Sorry for those who trekked up here and missed the good bite day by so little.    :smt009

DAAAAMN!!!
Nice fish Erik!
Deep 6 and an anchovie huh. Was it on an RSK type rig.

Well, I'm just happy to see someone catch a salmon from their kayak in The Cove this early. You certainly deserve it bro!

Thanks for the report and pics,
PK

All right!!!!! Persistance pays off.  Way to go Erik.  I am usually a day late and a dollar short.  I guess this time I was early.  Maybe I am homing in on the sweet spot.  Congratulations on the first NCKA ocean salmon of the year.  Once I have as many tirps as you I too will score one of those.

abking, those computers will learn you eventually... :smt010 submit the text, then go back and add the pics later!

great work on the fish, you are really getting it down! I hope that is a sign of a better year.

I see big waves a comin, so looks like you got the hole in the weather while you could it looks about as flat as it gets down here right now.
