I was told there is a pretty big increase in weight (#90) as well as price $1599. It looked and sounded really good until I heard that. I still am curious to demo one though.

is it still a rod pod?

Yes.  Double lid, double deep removable inserts so you can rod pos from your seat.

And yes transducer scupper is there, I fingered it.

The weight is up a bit. Now in line really with all the other kayaks in this class. The seat is super comfortable. The price point is up a bit but that's how it goes when you improve the features and the seat costs more. The rear hatch is new on the Tridents which is great to be able to store and access the rear of the kayak that you used to not be able to do. I paddled this one for awhile on Tuesday at Sly Park. I still don't care for a rudder on my kayak.

I'm really getting tired of ALL these kayaks getting heavier and heavier. I'm sticking with my 16' kayak at 75 lbs. Now that I have 2 of those I'm set for a long time.

Any prostaffers out there know if they redesigned the scupper in the new tridents to fit different transducers?  :smt006 Do you  need to drill to run transducer cables or did they come up with a newer option. Would really like to know , thanks.

It paddles great! I'll have one at TRW to check out. Scupper for transducer is center mounted like the ultra was just not same configuration. The one we paddled was preproduction so may have a few changes for production. Hull in unchanged just a different top half.
