I'm looking for a 10' kayak (lakes and calm bays) for my wife that she can lift herself (less than 50 pounds?) and that tracks well - a rudder is fine.

She asked for something narrower than a mini-x that glides nicely, but needs to be plastic, no exotics due to budget!

Anything particular come to mind we should try?

Oh, how about a Trident 11? I've heard good things about it, and I loved my 13

I am looking for one for the Wife also, We have been thinking about the Jackson Riviera. Haven't paddle one yet  but I see a lot of them on the river, the canoe place at the bridge rents them.

The T-11 is a great paddling smaller boat (56 lbs).

I talked to a few folks that rented the JK Rivieras on the RR last week. They loved them, they looked really nice for a rec/exploration boat. It seemed to glide along without too much effort. I know my wife would like how simple it is!

I like the handle ends on the JK, not sure about the molded seat back. The LL Coupe looks interesting.

Hunter Dan has one available at Bass Pro. You have to buy the kit though, comes with an SUV, Camper, Kayak, and a Coleman cooler.

The Tarpon 100 is worth looking at.

If you can find an OK Caper that would get my vote.

+1  If you want a sit-inside, the equivalent Pungo 100 is also good.
Warning! Retiree; Knows it all and has plenty of time to tell you about it.

Good options, thanks! We need to do some demos!

We are not considering sit inside (SInK) for her.

It's not clear where and how much kayaking your wife is planning.

OK Frenzy is 9' and only 44 lbs.  Nothing fancy on it, but it's very stable.
