I'm hitting the port on Sat morning.....early.  Fished there 3 days ago starting at around 6 AM for only around 3 hours and still ended with 8 bass to the boat and blowups/hit no sticks on at least 10 more.  All the fish were 10-13 inches.  Munky Butt Whopper Plopper did the trick.  I'm launching at around 5:30 or 6:00 with Fish Junky.  Who's with us?

I'll come by. I've also never fished the port. I'm guessing it's the launch there right off Jefferson?

That's right....just off Jefferson Blvd.  Just drive to the end and park.  The walk down ramp is just past the gate.  Launch and paddle to the left under the bridge and fish anywhere it's wet.  See ya in the morn.  If you have a handheld radio we'll be on channel 69.

Stripers or black bass?

Either....although you will find more stripers there in the winter....the black bass are there all the time. Hope to see you there.

A couple of us will be there Sunday morning.  Please post a report if you have time, and join us if you can't be there Saturday.  We will be there 600 on chrome 69.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

I just got off the water. Launched at 5:30, 3 strikes within an hour fishing a frog across from the ramp and up to the bridge, but wasn't fast enough. Headed out to the bridge and there was a big school of shad getting balled up by some striper, but I was not able to find a fish. Good day though, lots of activity.

A little off topic...do you ever have problems with car break ins parking in the dirt lot off Jefferson?  I had issues many years ago however this was prior to all the building.  Club Pheasant used to be the only thing out there!

So far no problem for me.... Leave nothing of value in the car. PD patrols the area and with only 2-3 ways out of west sac.... Folks tend to not mess around in that area. All the times I've been there till 12-1 am, never a problem. I do carry there. (*I generally do though) Never one incident :smt003

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Fish Junky and I launched at 5:45 and headed down the deep water channel.  The wind was blowing so it was a little different than last week when it was flat calm.  I used the Whopper Plopper for a while and did pick up 2 bass, a dink and one at 12 inches.  I went through the tackle bag and picked up another 9 inch bass on a chartruse spinner bait but that was all she wrote.  Junky used a craw colored crankbait for a few bass before we called it a day around 10.  Sorry we did not hook up with you Radski but we launched at the Washington Boat Club ramp.  Good luck on Sunday to all who venture forth.
