Thinking  about taking the day off work and heading out for some halibut. Medium tides and gentle winds in the morning. Let me know if anybody wants to join. Launch early and make some bait, high tide 10am.

I still remember the first time I ever heard the term SWMBO, pronounced swambo, She Who Must Be Obeyed. Life is just easier once you understand it.

Good Luck to all who give it a shot.

Shucks, been out there quite a bit and I am going out Friday thanks to your inspiration.  Cannot wing Thu.  I hope it is your record Hali day!

Saw a couple kayaks out there today.  We got one trolling on a PB.  Looked like a net out about 8:30 when we arrived.  Any luck.?

We were on the water at 6 and off at 4:30 or so. Adam got two big Leopards and a small Halibut. I got a Pretty big Angel shark, around 4', and tons of Sardines, Macks, and Smelt.

Where about was the bait fish?

Bait was scattered, but thick in some areas.  Watch for birds diving.  We covered a lot of ground on the troll.  You would see them hitting the top of the water and then huge clouds on the sonar.  We got our fish south of Millers on the east side in 16' of water.  Lots of bait in that area.

Great job Rob and Adam.  Sounds like you did better than most the power boats we talked to.  Took us 5 hours trolling to haul one in.  After another 30 minutes we both got snagged on something on the bottom and called it a day around 2pm.

Not really better at all. We heard of or saw at least 6 Hali caught yesterday.

Bait was all around the weather bouy all day.

Adams fish was not caught on any of the prevalent bait available.

I was out there also 7-1230, didn't see much action lots of bait, mostly Jack smelt for me, most too large to be useful. No halibut, and only news of one caught north towards the white cliffs from powerboat.  Drifted mostly west of hog island, sounds like I was in the wrong spot. Water was pretty cold 54 in the morning. But it was beautifull out there.
