Looking at swell forecast I knew last night was my only chance to try and shoot another Striper in the surf this week...

Cruised down with my Mom and Dad after work and suited up and jumped in while they chilled and drank wine on beach.

Way more churned up and rough than last time but started seeing small singles right away...darting in and out of the clouds of sand stirred up by the wave action.

Saw a few schools of barely legal ones but didn't get to line up a good shot on any...

Then a school of much nicer ones came in and I missed my shot.  :smt013

While reloading about 25-30 of this size (at least 30+_inches) went under me.  :smt010 :smt005

After another hour it was starting to get dark and hadn't seen any for awhile and was about to call it...then a nice looking single came by and I popped him right in the cheek.  :smt003

Got out of the surf and walked back to my parents with my kill.  :smt004

Stoked!!

Little bit longer and chunkier than my previous bigger one.

Here's a vid of the before and after...no footage of kill shot cuz I suck.  :smt005

Jim

It's really hard!  :smt005 :smt044

Yesterday in most spots the top few feet was all white air bubbles and the bottom few feet was all churned up sand... :smt009

Was a lot easier when it was flat calm and could see better...

Jim

Thanks Jim that video was as trippy as I thought it would be. I'd love to try that. Congrats on a fun time with your folks
