With the water being calm, I was invited to join a friend. I was excited to test out my two new toys I bought, Lowrance fish finder and a rechargeable dark water flashlight. We were hunting Sheep and started in a place with past luck. Within two taps of my flashlight on this rock a ling cod darted at my face, scared the crap out of me. I tapped my flashlight again and he bit it! I pushed back a bit and decided he would be my warm up fish. We decided to try our luck in a different spot, within my first dive I spotted a nice female sheep! I went up hoping after my breath up I could find her male. After hitting the bottom, I spotted the female and tried calling a male in. A fat 32" ling came swimming right at me! Turned on my GoPro pointed her out and decided to go for the easy kill. With Steve taking a huge 29" Sheep I gave one more dive hoping to find one. Diving down I found a Verm and added him to my stringer. Third spot no luck just a few more blacks but Steve pulled a nice verm and we headed back.
Enjoy the video!

Nice video- makes me want to jump in again. Surprised the vis down in Monterey wasn't better. I know there was a SW swell running. Not to give away your spot but were diving actual Monterey as opposed to Carmel or Pacific Grove? Thanks for the post!
