It's a pretty good (if obvious) idea, however I see two notable issues:

1. Note that none of the videos show a fish finder on the kayak. This is because the rack will get in the way.

2. Their kickstarter is bloated with too many nonsense tchotchkes that no one needs . Just have levels for racks, at early bird, normal and bulk. Paying for and shipping rewards  beyond the actual product takes time and money that could be better spent manufacturing and shipping a product.

That said, I wish them well. Even if it's not perfect, the rack definitely has a market.

It looks to me like it puts the rods right in the fishing zone. Easy to access for sure, but what do you do with that nice ling, halibut or sturgeon when you catch it?

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

looks like a LMBass thing......you don't keep any, but you need a rod for each&every lure know to man.
There is a market for that.

Aaah, this makes sense now.  When I saw this I thought it didn't seem terribly practical for Pacific use.

Yeah, this will be more appealing for those bass fishermen.  For ocean use, I'd say its a no go.

Interesting is definitely a good word for it. I had this show up on one of my feeds as well and my first thought was why??? It seems like those rods would be a mess sitting in front of you like that. Also it would make pedaling impossible in a hobie which removes some potential market...

The craziest thing is the $75,000 goal. They would need to pre sell 1250 of these things in order for it to be a successful campaign!! And why such a high goal? I would think they could manufacture them pretty inexpensively.

Looks like they are trying to up-sell it with bunch of branded crap^H^H^H things. Also not sure if price is right, there are quite a few (though may be with less hw) rod holders in $20-30 range.

I agree, for ocean fishing it seems to be clutterung deck, not removing mess. But might be handy for bass/freshwater.

I'm a bass catch and release guy. I have a pro angler that I would never put this on. I thought it would be nice for my small sit inside old town vapor.
