Picked-up the nephew and was at the launch at 7:oo.Trolled over LOTS and MANY of GROUPED ARCHS,but to no avail!
Paddled into danglin at the mouth of Scow Canyon and he did not have anything to report either.(thnx fer da tixs,Don!)
Once in the calm waters of the canyon (PIC#1) we saw fish breaking surface at the points,so we posted-up at seperate points and one hit top right between us......I tossed a rainbow 2"rapala over the ringged wake and BAMO!! a fiesty lil LMB!(first time catching a just-surfaced,first cast bass!) PIC#2
Pic #3~ trolled out of the canyon and to the right.....BZZZZZZZ..Fish-ON!
 I CPR'd this clean-finned beaut,did a U-turn and passed over the spot again...no luv.
Continuing towards the dam,I witness a pb'er hookin one on the troll as I paddled right next to him and a few seconds later.......FISH ON!
 PICS #4 & #5 19" CPR  & the lure of the day
It was 2:30 and started the home-ward troll towards the launch.I had a small piece of crawler on a needle fish all day,but he was still hangin' in there. As soon as the offerings passed a main point....agian!,my reel was singin my favorite tune.
This time,it did not get released, cuz it was over 5 lbs. and I have been hunting one like this for over 30years from that lake.Shore, boat and now KAYAK!!
PICS # 6 and #7

PIC# 8 one of the many sweet lookin spots

PIC # 9 The "PAY-OFF HAT"

PIC # 10 Ghostpaddler
side note:met Craig? in the canyon. He is a new NCKA member and said he does good at Chabot.
Welcome and nice to meet cha'

Adam -

Glad the lure worked out good for you, I got skunked at Chabot last weekend. Should of hooked up with you or Pat. In clear water the rainbow trout pattern works better for me, in cloudy water the brook trout, fire tiger and perch work better. I think those hatchery trout are cannibals and grow up eating little trout or something that smells like powerbait. You can launch from the main rec area by rolling or carrying your yak down the path to the fishing pier in front of the snack bar. Just have to avoid the shore anglers. I launch out of there when I am with the family because we usually have a BBQ shore lunch.

Thank you ALL for the KIND PROPS! If not for reading posts of others successes,I would be sitting on the shore, waiting for a fish to see my powerbait or worm.
