This was one of our largest events ever and our small group of volunteers from NCKA  pulled it off.

Here is an article and pictures from San Jose Mercury News.

That's a great picture Raydon, I'm glad the event was such a big success! Way to go volunteers and vets.

Have to say …

this was a particular amazing thing for me personally …

I'm in downtown Berkeley, dealing with some fucked up shit with some wounded warriors that is very distressing…

and I look at the news stand and see this ….

 wow …

 Thank you

 Thank you so Much …

Good times! It was a privilege to help out.  I wonder what Chloe did with all the chicken and pork bones... :)

Marv, your bbq was IMO, the best food ever served at a Nor-cal HOW event. It really made the day. Especially since no one was catching fish.Thank you for bringing your crew and making it happen. Native sons bbq rocks.

She cleaned all the meat off, took some home for her extended family for soup.  I did the smart thing, and packaged it, froze it, and it is ready for
the next time I go crabbing.  Smoked meats for those crustaceans :smt005.

I love to see the smiles as they get into it, pass that worry point and get to the Freedom part of the experience. Serving those folks will fill even the toughest heart and soul with joy. Tears flow at times. Pure joy explodes as they let go for even 10 min and just flow with the waters :smt007 Volunteer and get some joy in life....
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!
