The bass are getting ready to spawn if they haven't started allready they dont all spawn at once. Usually they are looking for water temp to be around 62 deg. The water was 55 deg. on Saturday. I caught 9 bass the largest being a 4.7 lbs. All but two were males the other female was 3.2 both with fat bellies full of eggs. The better fish came on yamamoto creature baits black with red glitter Texas rigged with 3/16 black bullet and 3.0 Owner hook . White chatter baits and white spinner baits got the rest. I did not see any larger fish but I did here of a 10lb pig caught by another boater in this same area later in the day. A lot of the local pros are fishing there up until the 26Th. After that date there is an off limit date were they can not be on the delta till 3/9. All this is for the upcoming FLW tournament on 3/14 to 3/17. Then the next weekend after the Bassmaster Elite tournament is happening they have a 30 day pre off limit time prior to there date. That water will be hammered for the next month. I think the best time to fish Franks with a kayak is between 2/26 thru 3/11 there should not any pros but there will be some amateurs but you will have a good chance of catching a big fish. Last year most of the bass fishing tourniments were won from fish out of Franks tract it supports lots of fish during the spawn.

Would you be willing to try it in a bass boat or are you a kayak man only? I love this place but it is very large place.
I know the rivers well but trying to get to the places from the road I dont know so well. Miles and miles of roads and rivers. Let me know what you think.
