Now that the season has begun I will start posting fishing and diving stuff. This last project wrapped the pre season doldrums for me.
This is a mix between a Hooter Shooter and a Sniper Archery Shooter. Got several ideas from others as well and incorporated a few of my own.
Probably built this thing 3 or 4 times when it was all said and done. Weld something together, grind it off and do it a different way.
This is the final outcome. Still have a couple of very minor tweaks but so far 95% done.
Took it out to the range and gave it a whirl from 20 yards out.
Four arrows, three holes, and that's hurrying because it was mosquito hell outside.
This would be about $1400 with tax and shipping if I was to buy it new. Wanted one but no way was I going to pay that much.
Plus this one is much heavier which means sturdier and less prone to wobbling giving different results.
Now I hav a new toy to play with and can supertune my bow.

Still tryin for a Robinhood? Jk

Pretty cool! Hoyt had a robot DRY FIRING the Tenacity in Vegas in 97 with a counter. It was up to 1500 with no damage when I seen it. The industry was furious, because it was basicalky saying it was ok to do that. Crazy...

Yep, it was in a plexiglass cube, and it did explode, not sure what the tally was.

Wild looking contraption... But thinking I'd benefit more putting real shooting time in than rigging up thing. Not sure super tuning a bow on it makes much sense either when there's a person behind it when it matters. Kuddos on the creativity!

Actually, it does.  If you tune the bow to "perfection", then any margin of error rests on the shooter.  The shooter isn't then creating bad form/habits to compensate for an issue with the bow.  This also allows a shooter with multiple bows to tune them all in-line with each other so that good form/shooting traits are carried bow-to-bow rather than needing to compensate bow-to-bow.  For the average shooter, this type of super tuning may not be a necessity but to an avid shooter/hunter/competition it can make the difference in win-lost-missed shot I would assume.  I'd love to be a super shooter myself but thats a whole other level of shooting.

It takes out the human factor which in turn means it takes out the frustration factor.
Some days I shoot great, other days not so well.
Nothing more frustrating than trying to figure out what you are doing wrong when it turns out, for whatever reason, it's the bow and not you.
I like to tinker. Some people watch TV, some play video games, some people text all day. I can't always go fishing and I can only shoot so many arrows in a day so for me making this was a fun way to pass the time.
