Does anyone have experience with mounting a Torqeedo 403 in a way that makes it easy to remove from the boats. I read online that the only way was with an allen wrench and that the screws eventually get stripped.

I have not bought it yet, but hoping to mount to either a Tribe Perception 11.5, or an Ocean Malibu Two XL. I wonder if there is a way to be able to switch it between boats.

I don't find the 2 allen screws to be annoying, 30 seconds to mount it. I don't take it off at the ball joint thing, I slide the motor off the horizontal arm by loosening the 2 allen screws. I believe the nuts for those screws are nylock, screws just loosened not fully removed, never lost one.

The worse part is if you forget the allen key, been there/done that, so I always have a spare in the truck.

If it was me and I wanted to mount it on 2 yaks, I would just get 2 ball mounts and 2 horizontal bars. Make sure you give that horizontal bar the proper secondary support.

The weak point I'm noticing is where the steering cables attach. It's plastic and I can see it wearing, I believe someone makes an Aluminum one, I will probably just put some small stainless eyebolts first and see how that works.

Good luck
