You don't know how to use a FF, why are you asking?

I use a 7ah or 9ah, like the ones for alarm systems. My charger is a NOCO genius charger.

I use this one for the FF batteries and for my race car.
https://no.co/g3500 I got it on sale for $39. Mine is an older version that does not not do lithium bats.

What are you guys using for batteries and chargers?

Even though it's a tad heavy, it fits perfect in a 1120 pelican case and lasts forever.. Not to mention they're cheap.. I use the 12v 9ah chrome battery SLA batteries you can find a pair of 2 on Amazon for $39 and one for $22 they've worked great and I like having 2 just in case... The pelican case is $24 so worth every penny..

Charger is pretty simple, but I charge for the length I use the battery.. Usually it gets it fully charged

I have a 5.2 Ah 4 Cell LiPo and '4-button' style charger. Battery was $20, charger was $30. I just ordered two more batteries but upped them to 6ah since there was only one 5.2Ah in stock. Still only $25.

The 5.2Ah battery will power my Dragonfly 4Pro for two reasonably long days while only using a safe margin of the capacity.

I have 8Ah battery ($18, http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Replaces-Lowrance-Elite-3x-Finder/dp/B00W7D0PBW?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage) which has yet died on me OTW (powers Elite-5 Chirp up to at least 7 hrs)

There are lots of charges ~$20, I have this: http://www.amazon.com/Schumacher-SEM-1562A-CA-Charge-Battery-Maintainer/dp/B0009IBJAS?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage , though I bought it much cheaper

I would also look at LiOn batteries

I use this one, comes with the charger. Yes its heavy but fits in my crate. I used motorcycle charging jacks to charge and to hook up to the FF.
I only want to be the man my dog thinks I am.

One more sweet thing about LiPos: the weight. My "heavy" battery weighs just shy of 1 pound. My new 6AH one is 4/5 of a pound

12Ah sla battery and a Battery Tender charger. Plug it in after fishing and it stays plugged in till the next trip.  Same with my Interstate Deep Cycle battery for camper.  These batteries have lasted years this way.

I run a 7ah sla battery i got as a combo with a charger for xmas. Was a hummingbird branded one. Battery is great, charger was a p.o.s. so i recently bought the noco genius. Charges at 3/4amp, so its perfect as i was told charging shouldnt exceed about 10% of the ah of the battery per hour. In other words, 10hrs from empty to ensure long life.  The 7ah is plenty of battery for my small screen. Sometimes even lasts 2 trips before a charge.

The battery, when connected to my elite 4 chirp goes in a dry bag, and i rollover the wires about 3 times and buckle it up. Stays competely dry inside the not-so-waterproof flex pod on my thresher 155.

I have seen a lot of sla batteries at frys electronics. Comes in various sizes, brands, and voltages.
