Greetings, I am an avid small boat fisherman and diver.  I learned canoeing from my grandfather at an early age. I got my first boat in 1971. It was built in 1925 and was a 18'x20"w Old Town canoe.  I fished that canoe in numerous waters in Rhode Island and other New England locals.  It was easy to use as the foundation of our house rose right out of Spring Lake.  Later, I bought a plastic boat while living in Florida.  As a family of three we made many open water trips to places like Caya Costa Island in the Gulf of Mexico, East Cape Sable, Shark Point.  I also got into hunting and fishing while paddling rivers and swamps. Before moving back west I convinced several friends to go out in the Atlantic to scuba dive for lobsters and spear fish.  We made 14 total dive trips prior to us moving back west.
Since living here in Reno, I have made sea kayaking trips off South Africa, Thailand, and the California coast for Abalone at McKerriker, and Albion.
I enjoy diving and have been fortunate enough to dive great locals around the world. Other interests include hunting, skiing, travel, caving, climbing and the outdoors.
So Forrest Johnson convinced me to join your group and try the Gimme Shelter Tenth Annual Kayak Gathering.  He also suggested that I give a shout out to Desert Diver.  Hope to meet many of you there.
