Hit Da Clear for a Saturday night and and a SunDay. Walk in camping was available at the State Park, water's edge even!
If you like to see a bobber go down, if you want your kid to catch something, go here. THere are crappie most everywhere. My biggest was around 14". The bluegill, bulls, wanted to play too. I even caught bass as an incidental. Shad were schooled up and fish, mostly small buck bass, were busting on them. My best bass was over 20". Ol' one-eye with the messed up mouth.
The best lure was a tiny 1\32 oz white marabou jig. It caught everything!
I met a pair of other yakers in the campground, good guys. I might have recruited them.
Crappie for the most part are weak fighters. Not so for the black crappie, as good a bluegill, almost.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Nice to see your post Juan. I camp-ed in the state park last week. Got my daughter fishing for crappie. Evening fishing she caught 4 I only caught 1.  :smt011 Next morning I walked to the back of my camp and caught 20!
Clear lake state park have super nice campgrounds and they are well managed too.
Most importantly, we have lots of crappie to catch this year. :smt003 :smt003 :smt003

Are the crappies safe to eat from Clear Lake? heard lots of things about pollution, but the size that you get from out of there are huge compared to others lakes I've seen..

Nice!  Its good to see the water up in the trees like that.  Looks like old one-eye had a rough go with a fisherman when he was a little younger, but those fish are tough!
