when potluck fishing catch Rockfish and lings then go after the salmon bearing in mind that once you have a vision board amount of hooks and barbless begin to apply. if a school of herring Mack sardines or anchovies swim under your boat or kayak can you throw out a Sabiki rig ?
answer is no. even though you're not targeting Rockfish or salmon and it's clearly evident you have more hooks in the water than permitted by regs :smt001

It goes both ways. If you have rockfish on board first, you're subject to rockfish depth limitation. This isn't usually an issue for kayakers, but theoretically if you bag a rockfish while trolling for salmon off Moss Landing, suddenly you can't legally troll over the deep stuff.

Personally, if I'm going to target salmon I do that first. Rockfish actually stick pretty well on barbless hooks.
