One issue I have with my dog, is out in the delta. The trash, line, hooks, bait and who knows what else that people leave behind. Ol Peps has had many hooks in his pads. Kills me to hold him down and remove it. Not to mention what he may eat when my back is turned. SO, I rarely take him with when I am banking it in the Delta. I wish folks gave a crap.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Same thing happened with my dog, long story short - had a long day at work, figured I'd run to the deep channel and soak some bait. Brought the dog with me as she likes to just chill. I had my rod in a rod holder staked into the ground. I placed fresh bait on went to wash my hands. I hear my drag going nuts and turn around and it was DOG on! I set the hook and started the battle (she's 75 pounds). I'm kidding! She went for my bait and immediately I flipped the bill through the rod on the ground and grabbed her to lay her down. Fortunately for me it was a good hookset right in the lip - fortunately I caught her in time because it didn't go past the barb. Let's just say she goes nowhere near my baits anymore.

Luckily only had to pull hooks out of my dogs snouts and hips. Was threading popcorn for the Christmas tree once and had about 4 feet of popcorn threaded and while sliding the popped corn down the thread my hand hit a wet nose....silly dog.

Testing out the crab snare on a willing participant ...

Silly human!
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.
