Does anyone know where I can get a 6oz Lead head Jig mold so I can start pouring my own jig heads?  I have found the 4 oz from Do it but I cant find the 6oz.

After you find one maybe I can borrow it.  Going to make some 2,3 and 4 ounce ones today.  But definitely can use the bigger ones with the strong current and surge.

I took a 6oz trolling sinker mold and made a slot for the hook eye to go thru about half way along the straight part.  the curved part of the sinker is the bottom.  7/0 or 8/0 hooks were used

I see your point but I recover lead while diving and repurpose it.  It is just fun to make things.  I know Sarge has a bunch of lead so was probably thinking the same thing.

I agree. I would buy them at OPS if I was closer. Anyone want to pick some up for me?

You can order from their website. Usually pretty fast. www.outdoorproshop.com

Matanaska those heads look nice. Try trimming a little swimbait off before you stick them for a cleaner presentation. This way you can get the swimbait to match the size of the lead head.

Try giving them a call. I bet they will take care of you over the phone.

Just a guess but they are usually pretty helpful in my experience.

Hi sarge. There is a company on eBay that makes a mold for shad heads up to 8 oz I believe. They are pretty expensive though the ones from dolphin/hilts are definitely the cheapest I have seen. If you only need a few look into DIY mold making. Lots if stuff on YouTube. I also believe there is a way to pour lead into a silicon mold I plan on researching this further when I get the time. I like making things and figuring things out to

Then only 6oz heads I could find on the outdoor pro shop web page were more in the 4.00 a piece range.

If you do decide to buy some big ones let me know. I have been making heads and selling them and if there is enough interest I may purchase a 6oz mold. I have someone else I sold some 8 and 12 oz to
