Hello Everyone,

I purchased an Ocean Kayak Trident 13 (fishing model) last September and have been taking it out fishing as often as I can.  I live in Auburn, CA so I have mostly been taking it to lakes around here.  I have taken it to: Folsom, Natomas, Rollins, Sugar Pine, Big Bear Reservoir, and the American River past Nimbus Dam (Hazel Ave. put in).  So far I have only caught one trout and one large mouth out of Folsom on my kayak, but I always bring a pole with me. A coworker of mine suggested that I check out this forum to see how other people were fishing with their kayaks and where they have been fishing. I have been impressed so far. I think I would like to try some of the tournaments and group outings that I have seen posted on here. I have yet to purchase a fish finder and I am a little weary because I have already drowned one iphone.

P.S.
I keep my fishing poles and paddle in my bedroom as an inspiration.

Sounds like you're doing a good job of getting out on the water.  I like your spirit.  I'm glad that you took your coworker's advice to check out NCKA.  What you will find here is way more than info on how people are using their kayaks for fishing.  This place will, if you want it to, take you to the top of your kayak fishing game.

Welcome.

I keep my fishing poles and paddle in my bedroom as an inspiration.

Me too. Well, not really for inspiration---it's the only place that I've got the space...
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?
