Andy (kickin bass) and I took a little trip to Lake Mendo today in a hunt for striper and arctic freeze. We spent around 3 hours on the water and Andy landed a nice smallmouth bass.

Luckily, I live at the base of the dam. Otherwise, Andy would have had to drive back home for his paddle, which I hear is handy to have. Once he unloaded his yak, he also realized his PFD was handing next to the paddle. What a way to start the day!

While we paddled around dragging our minnows, it rained and rained and rained. After a while we were chilled to the bone, so we migrated back to our trucks. Once I was home, I think it took about 3 hours to warm up.

All in all, it was a good time!

CHEERS!

Nice that looks like Joels Smallie :smt003
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

That smallie put up a good fight.  I was using a 8'6" Loomis and it was bending GOOD!!!!!  Better yet, after we got drenched by the dam, we began heading back to the SBR.  I was in about 60 ft of water with only 30 ft of line, when WAMM!!!!  my rod went "BENDO" (TM) (trademark for scwafish).  I had my drag set way too tight and when I loosened the drag, I over did it, and it waved BYE-BYE....
