This  one of you guys?
I saw this on a page and thought this was pretty risky to say the least.
Hope he makes his destination safely.
If one of you did it how was the paddle?
Matt

Not me. I was thinking about it though. I don't think it would be too bad.

I considered it until I went and looked at the distance between the walkbridge and the water at Sunrise.
Not enough clearance.
And when I saw the rescue crews at Arden I decided against it.

Too much big stuff floating in the water you might not see. Flows nothing, but the debris is what will get you.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

A river in flood stage can look "not that bad", but my opinion is that we have NO BUSINESS getting on high water that is surely turbid beyond seeing hazards, and the flow is up in the inundated riparian growth that has been getting a great foothold during the drought.

The hazards to boating and human life that are present in a flood-swollen river are nothing to take lightly.

Surviving a ride down a flood-swollen creek or river is something to be glad for if you were forced into the situation.  IMO, it's nothing to look to put on your resume'.

It's amazing! Water is flowing over Fremont Weir into the Yolo Bypass. Get ready for the windsurfers below the I-80 Causeway. (Yes I have seen those and wonder if they know where the barbed wire and gate posts are hidden.) The Sacramento River is full of huge Crapagators right now. I wouldn't even want to power boat in there. Stay smart, folks.
Warning! Retiree; Knows it all and has plenty of time to tell you about it.
