I was wondering if I can get some recommendations. Looking for an inexpensive kayak that can be loaded on top of a Suv. I was looking at the ocean kayaks, Jackson and others. I currently have a tarpon 120 and I was looking to get a tandem for my young son or wife  to get two on the boat . I just started kayaking and just registered on this .
Thanks

I've been pretty happy with the pro 2 tandem from malibu kayak.  Not willing to part with it quite yet but can heartily recommend it.

You can usually pick up a Malibu 2 xl for under 500.
I only fish on days that end with Y

My son and I used the Malibu Pro 2 tandem for about two years, fishing in lake and ocean.  While it is not the most fishing friendly yak, it is functional and light enough for the two of us to life it above our CRV.

Hi Bioman, check Monterey Bay Kayaks for their used ones. I got an Ocean Kayaks tandem and am quite happy with it because I wanted to be able to spear with my younger daughter. But I will say that I notice being definitely slower when I am in it solo compared to anyone else in a single kayak. That doesn't really bother me, but if you are thinking of paddling miles solo in a tandem trying to keep up with friends in singles, you might re-think the tandem. One of those tough decisions all of us without unlimited cash face. Good luck whichever way you go and safe fishing/diving!

We have one & thinking about letting go too.
Paddles perry nice but little tipsier than OK Malibu xl (but more haul access).

FWIW I have a Perception Tribe 13.5 and really dig it for taking my daughters or my dad out and it actually paddles pretty well solo also, and is nice and light...

If you see a good price on one it would be worth considering...

Good luck!
