sturgeon derby-pb report

we fished the derby again. on sat richard hooked up early in san pablo bay. he caught a 52" sturgeon on a ghost/grass combo. 10 fun filled hours later i caught a 22' striper at the mbf. kinda slow but we got one.

You got fish and the conditions look NICE!!  10 hrs. is hardcore!but you had  BIG $$ PAY-OFF slurpin around down there.

 we had our fish measured just to see the scene. we were in 7th place for about 15 minutes, but the fish were coming in were pretty big.  the target size was 68", we saw one at 66.5", BIG!

I was in that thing too representin' NCKA on my yak. I saw a few other NCKA's out there on the water Sunday in San Pablo Bay doing their thang.  Unfortunately, all I  had to show for the sturgeon derby was the striper pictured below. Oh well, better luck next year...    I chickened out on rolling my yak in the Pittsburg Harbor at night by myself so I did not get to fish as many hours (including night-time hours) as others in the derby. Maybe I will use my winnings from next year to buy a boat. Oh, big thanks to Freddy for the stringer.

I heard the winning fish was 68.5''.

And here I didn't report my sturgeon trip because I was cheating on my kayak. 

Great job guys!  I'm looking to go out again in 2 weeks when the tides are ideal again.
