Just saw this when checking out Rancho Seco, anyone go this or plan on going to any of the events?
Might have to hit the Lake Amador.

I went to the Rancho Seco event and caught bass. I may do the Amador or Collins lake events. The guys who run it are pretty cool.

Sounds like an opportunity to participate in these events. Hey. why not! I've wanted to fish Collins for some time. I'll have to check-it-out as a possibility?? :smt109 :smt109

The Collins event will be big.  That's kind of our home lake and draws a crowd.  I'd love to see a NCKA member win one.

Yaks finished 1st, 4th, and 6th in this event at Collins 2 years ago.  I know because I was 4th, Dmaez 1st, and Dilbeck 6th.  Rancho Seco was a no-hitter for us, but got some great intel on future bass fishing.  Oh, and even though we got three golden tickets at Collins TOC on the boat drawing for the top ten, we got no love.  Read the rules so you know what you are getting into, a good event.

Fished the SPD & Rancho Seco events...qualified for the TOC event @ #49 out of 50 spots at SPD. Been bummed that the 1st two events haven't been as trolling friendly as I'd like - had old timers in PBs cross my lines twice @ SPD.
Looking forward to the motherload events later in the spring...

Rider we scouted in the yaks, but you are correct in the fact that we shore fished in the spot we scouted.  I guess I should have said NCKA was represented.  Anyway the tournaments are good fun.

Yeah, the first year was fun!

I'd love to see a NCKA member win one.

Year 1:

Myself, Jeff/barefoot1, and Daniel/dmaez all qualified for the Tournament of Champions by placing in the top ten at the Amador qualifying event.  We had a plan and it worked to perfection.  I ended up taking 2nd and missed out on 1st by 2 hundredths of a pound.  Was also my personal best day at Amador with a 5 fish limit of 24 pounds.

At the TOC we also did well as Jeff mentioned above.  I did some scouting on the kayak and found a BUNCH of nice fish holding up at the inlet and we just slaughtered them on day 1.  Day 2 they were a little finicky for good reason, lol.

Year 2:

We weren't as successful last year but still had fun.  Jeff and Daniel qualified at Amador while I punched my ticket for the TOC at Camanche.

We didn't slay at the TOC as the fish were absent from the inlet but still landed 10 fish amongst the 3 of us - on Saturday at least.  The weather turned to crap on day 2 and the fish turned off.  Only Daniel placed at the TOC last year.

Year 3:

Still undecided as to whether I'll participate this year.  The novelty of it has worn off for me.  I was also a little turned off by a couple of things.

All in all though, it's an inexpensive way to have some fun and potentially earn some money.  To anybody who's considering it, I say, "go for it!"

Curious to hear about the turn offs.  We have been evolving on our end to continue to grow the series, but it is a work im progress.  Your insight is valued.  If you have a sec, shoot ma a pm with your thoughts.
