SMUD Trout Derby Rancho Seco

Thanks for the update. This is a great little derby that me and my Dad have been attending the last few years. No go last year due to the drought. Up and running this year.

The Monday & Tuesday after the derby can provide some epic crowd free fishing! They put a lot of big fish in there that don't get caught right away!

Also great time to throw swimbaits for the big bass' that live in that lake.

Sounds like fun, I may have to get Ari out there on the kayak.

I plan to be there on Monday.  The crowds are a joke out there, but fun to watch at times.  My biggest rainbow was 8.75 pounds, good enough for a 2nd place years ago.

Just stay away from the launch ramp where they plant the fish and you'll be good.

Pretty much every trout lake in California lol I have never seen so many people ecstatic to catch a fish fresh out of a tank.

I did book before looking at the spot, maybe might need to reconsider the camping option and only go there and fish.    How is the camping there? Anyone have any input, never ben here yet so might just have to cancel camping or just leave it for Saturday night and use it as a place to cook up some dinner.
