I may have a couple of days mid week to take the kayak out fishing.  Any intel/suggestions for a local lake (Sac area).  Maybe Berryessa, foothills, or a little further up?

I don't know of how the lakes are doing but I hear from friends that the rivers are producing stripers and sturgeon
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Thanks, I'll keep that option open.  I could launch from my brothers place in Benicia if they are still that far down.
Would rather do some lake fishing though. Trout, crappie, catfish, maybe some bass.

Bass at Berryessa are shallow and willing.  Good weather in the mid 70's all week and a mid-week trip will free you up from the barrage of bass boats.

Thanks, Lightfoot.  The bass must be prespawn.  Sounds like a good option

I'd go to Berryessa.  I am upset with myself for not going Saturday.  I hope to go this weekend if the weather holds out.  The further north in the lake you can go, the earlier in the year the bite happens.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Thanks, Scott.  Looks like it will be Berryessa for me this week.

I have never fished Berryessa. Where is a good place to go on that lake?

It depends what you are chasing.

Chinook: Markley cove
Kokanee: Steele Canyon, public ramp, or that park half way up where you gotta wheel your kayak in... it really depends where the kokanee are at the time.
Bass: Anywhere, but the shallower parts of the lake tend to heat up faster in the spring so check those out.
Crappie: It's cost you a case of beer, but ask Naoaki.
Trout: Anywhere, but in summer go to the deeper parts of the lake and flowing inlets.
