Got grandkid watch while the rest of the fam does the Alamere Falls hike, so was wondering how to keep them occupied.

Anything to do in Bolinas??

Hows the fishing in the lagoon???

Any help on how to keep them (and me) occupied, would be appreciated....

You can catch leopard sharks and bat rays in the lagoon right on hwy 1. If low tide take them to the tide pools at agate beach. There are also jasper, whale bone and oil agate to be collected at Agate beach

Agate beach also has tide pools, a few perch and small leopard sharks. Fun and somewhat safe for little kids as long as it is not too windy.

I've seen some sharks caught right at the mouth of the lagoon. Also seen some guys catching perch near there.

Other than that, you can take a walk around town, check out the old-fashioned mercantile store, watch the surfers, hang on the beach, toss a frisbee, all that usual beach stuff.

I've caught leopard sharks right at the mouth of the lagoon on squid and a sliding sinker. You can also throw a crab pot or two in there at slack tide.

Rich- are there really boobs (with the exception of man boobs) that you wouldn't want to see? Variety pack!

High tide far north end of the lagoon right next to hwy 1. Use squid. Lots of sharks to catch.

Try crab snares off the beach near the mouth. I've seen plenty caught there.

carefull what you advise,

When visiting Agate Beach, please remember that collection of rocks, shells, and any other marine life is prohibited.

I was there feverishly seeking shark! I learned to fish all the tides, all around like a trout pond! Couple secrets, hella perch, caught two halibut drifting squid... what I want to know, is the clay/sandbars open and safe for clamming?

not bringing any yaks, would be to obvious and wife would think i planned not going on the hike to kayakfish...

So I would be limited to mostly land or shore stuff... maybe try and sneak in a little perching... maybe........ but mostly just wanna spend quality time with the grandbabies....

on low tide anywhere around the lagoon you can lift up boulders and find all types of critters like eels , ghost/mud shrimps , midshipmen.

Cody used to put a bobber with squid strips and drift the whole inlet. Once he found the barred, it was on!
