I noticed that red rock crab is still closed in areas that Dungeness is open.  Are they closed for D-acid?  Kinda sketchy if you ask this novice, do they have a different diet? How could they be testing different when they are so similar.
Yes they are closed for DA. Two reasons. Biology and government incompetence.
Rock crab eat  a lot of filter feeding shellfish like mussels which have high levels of DA. Dungies, while often thought of as scavengers are actually bad ass predators of small fish as well. Less DA in their diets.
While we were promised regular testing at the emergency stakeholders meeting at the beginning of the closure it hasn't happened in ports north of Monterey.
Dungie samples are obtained by commercial fishermen who donate their time and operating costs to get them.  This hasn't happened with Rock Crab. Obviously we cannot expect fisheries managers to bare the burden of obtaining samples as we all know how notoriously difficult it is to catch these highly intelligent elusive critters.

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

People aren’t supposed to look back. I’m certainly not going to do it anymore.”

You should go back to the charter operator and demand four crab. You paid for them.

But leave my blacklining alone. Blackline copies keep me sane.

does not answer anything--that shit is in every book on every section just about--upcoming changes...i'm gonna walk into the living room and announce there may be upcoming changes ---keep a look out...stupid shit

I called today three offices from local all the way to sac headquarters and to a man /woman -no one had clue
a few bright ones told me

were only ducks at this office

or crab??? yeah I think thats open now??

it does not read
south of pt reyes charter boats may have 10 crabs per angler now---although this is the rule now--just does not say it anywhere in writing---show me
You need to remember these are the same people that think a reg that says only one pole allowed in San Pablo Bay somehow applies to the Napa River.  :smt006 :smt044 :smt044

Yup like I said, the same people. I'm sure that's why they felt it was necessary to include phrases like "and tidal rivers" in other regs was because they already knew it is included.  :smt006
