Live today for tomorrow's sake.
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

Beat the person who broke it with the remaining piece
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

I've taken the rod tip end and slipped over the antenna on my truck.  Looks pretty cool.

Pay tribute to the sea goddesses.  Cast them into the sea.  Trick Amphitrite into thinking you mean no harm to her sea creatures.  Or offer them to Brizo for protection and safe passage on the water.

Okay, I'll ask the dumb question.. with a wrap of fiberglass soaked in epoxy... fix the rod...?
Does that just compromise the rod unacceptably?

I cut deep down a broken rod to fit in my putter slot on my golf bag. Now I always have a rod when I golf. Golf course ponds hold big bass!!!
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Depending where it breaks you can put a ferrule on it and make it into a two piece.

I've done that before for customers when I use to custom build rods.

I cut my rod right off where it meets the handle. Put 100# braid on the reel and tied my lure retriever to the braid. It is compact, fits in my rod holders on my crate. It has saved me about 1000$ just in the last two months.
