Hey!

My name's Aaron I'm from the Marysville area. I'm an avid hunter and an enthusiastic fisherman. I've never caught a fish from a yak, but my father and I are looking at purchasing some Nucanoes for a dual purpose rig, hunting and fishing! I'm also trying to sell two new like new hobie 14's with pedal drive systems and trailer for some friends of mine!

Looking forward to being a member here and learning more from the pros!

Welcome aboard Aaron!  I'm just up HWY 70 from you in Paradise.  Why are you selling the Hobie 14's?  They are great boats.

Not mine, they belong to my friends, an older couple that barely used them. If I was just planning to fish from a yak, I would buy them both in a heart beat. The NueCanoes have a wider body, and definitely suit more of my needs to have a boat that I can hunt ducks out and fish from.

I hear you but don't rule out the Jackson Kilroy.  I know some guys hunt out of the Kilroy and they even make a camo skirt for it.  I love mine but haven't hunted out of it.  Yet!

FYI - Here's one for sell on the board.  I don't know anything about it except I know that it is a really good price.  http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=69235.0

Welcome to the community, Aaron.   :smt001

You might put the Malibu X-Factor on your list of extremely stable and roomy yaks to check out.  I love mine for everything from stand-up salmon surveys on the river to 15 mile trolling days offshore.

Good luck with your research.

Welcome to the forum and the community!

As we commonly say, it's a good idea to check out as many kayaks as you can before buying. You may end up with a NuCanoe, but then again you may find something else that you like even better.
