Rollins dropped some 6-7 feet in preparation for this storm. Water still cloudy and gonna get a new load of silty water this week. Should be overflowing the spillway soon again. water never got too low this year so the deep nesting spotted bass and crappie should be all over this spring.1-3" bait grabbers. Going to be a challenge to get anything past them to larger fish :smt005 water is warming but this storms back half will cool things down a bit. We will be spending some time on the water soon to see where the schools are hanging (AND TO CATCH A FEW TO POST PICTURES AND GET EVERYONE READY) :fishing1
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Couple of questions....

1) Is there any place nearby that has hookups ?

2) Will my 18' trailer fit this campsite ?

3) Are minnows legal, if so where is the closest place to the lake to get them ?

Thanks in advance,

T.L. Tim

#3. No, east of hwy 49 live bait is not legal. No minnows, bluegil, or ?? The exception is Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake where minnows are legal IF they are caught in the lake you are fishing. They may not be transported from one to the other.

Hey Tim,

Yes, I believe this is a full service campground and should be plenty of room for your rig. No minnows but you wont need em, I caught a sheeeet ton of crappie and bass last year, few trout too.
I'm talking with Mike the owner on Greenhorn campround, trying to see if he'll give us a deal on weekend camping like last years FreshKATs. No matter, I'll be there along with a bunch of friends. Stoked about a crappie fish fry!

Oh Hobie will also be there demoing boats and I heard they'll have some past year new and demo at ridiculous prices if interested.

The rumor is true. All of them except the 18" crappie  :smt044 :smt008 :smt044

The water is extremely muddy when I was there yesterday. I hooked up and released a tasty squaw fish minutes after launching then went hours with NADA. Then I get a hard takedown and fight on. Landed a beautiful 14.75" crappie. Worked the area for a while and couldn't get any other takers.

Depending if we get more rain in the near future the lake is a couple weeks away from being prime conditions.

Nice one bud! I'm hoping I can get up there and fish with you guys! Work has been crazy, so fingers x'd.
Edit-
I'm not going to make it. Checked my calendar and I'm doing a film session for Eddyline that weekend. Bummed I'm going to miss it. I'll think about you guys on my three day fishing/filming tour though!  :smt004
Catch that 18"er for me!
