If anybody can look the attached PDF over and let me know if you see any mistakes/duplicates/omissions/errors etc I would really appreciate it.

These are the "participation raffle tickets" for the Wilderness Systems Thresher 14 with Rudder secured by RacinRob for our 2015 AOTY and DOTY players.

I did my best to count the 1,028 entries as accurately as I could, but obviously I could have made some mistakes.  :smt005

FWIW, last year we had 858 entries into this raffle and this year 1,028, so we had 170 more in 2015 than 2014...which I think is a good thing!!  :smt004

Anyway, please let me know if you see that I made any mistakes so that I can adjust the list before my daughters and I start making out tickets!

Thanks again to RacinRob and WS for this awesome prize!!!  :smt007

Thank you!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Dude, you put in lots of work for DOTY/AOTY!

I'll give it a second pair of eyes.  :smt006

Perhaps Montana could give it a half  of a third pair of eye.  :smt003

The ones that were trickier for me (and I think where I was more likely to make mistakes) are the AOTY guys that have more then 10 species...cuz I had to click into each name and count the number of species entered from 1/1/15 to 12/31/15, and often there were upgrades throughout the year etc....

So yeah if you see that I counted your number of species submitted and approved wrong please just let me know, and please don't take it personal!!

Thank you!

Yeah, what a pain in the ass. Can we set up an annual report that summarizes the AOTY data for the year?  It shouldn't be too hard to set up.

That sounds great to me but that kinda stuff is way above my paygrade/brain power.

Just an idea. If this is in Excel, could you do a pivot table with the data?

Just an idea. If this is in Excel, could you do a pivot table with the data?

So what I've been doing is entering the info from the AOTY and DOTY scoreboards into Excel, sorting it (see attachment), then exporting to a PDF...

But as far as I know the only way to get it off the AOTY and DOTY websites is manually...and that's the tricky part that I think is prone to me (or whoever else does it in the future) making a mistake...

Let's take Live2Fish as a simple example...

Here is the 2015 scoreboard:

http://aoty.norcalkayakanglers.com/leaderboard/list2015results

Live2Fish played AOTY for his first time last year....so should be easy to see how many species he got in AOTY in 2015...

But even with only one year's worth of data, he had multiple upgrades etc, and since the AOTY software only shows his top 10 on the leaderboard you need to click into his name to see his fish and then scroll through his fish and count each individual species:

http://aoty.norcalkayakanglers.com/leaderboard/list_by_angler/297

With someone like ATD who has played for many years I find it even trickier cuz my eyes get blurry when scrolling through all the entries   :smt005

http://aoty.norcalkayakanglers.com/leaderboard/list_by_angler/130

It's not rocket science or anything to pull it from AOTY and DOTY sites, just time consuming and it makes me nervous that I might make a mistake...

But I do my best to double check so hopefully it's accurate...  :smt002

If there is an easier way to do it for the future I would be stoked to know it, and/or hand off the task to someone who is better with numbers than me.  :smt005

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim
