Eel river shuttle set-up Sat2/3 or Sun 2/4

I'm considering running The main stem eel just below the forks this weekend. I'm open for Sat Sun. It's about a five hour drift, longer if we find a honey hole. I'll bring a trailer for the shuttle if anyones game. Some kind of diamond anchor set-up is reccommened (See scwafish post under kayak rigging)

The Burlington campground is open with plenty of spaces for tents/RV's. This is right at the Park HQ and few miles upstream of the Forks

I'm up for it. Always wanted to give the Eel a go. Would I need to bring 4wd, or can I get away with my van? Also are you sure the river is going to stay open, considering low flow closures?

 Jonesz we have great access pts for vans and Rv's but 4wd opens up some spots that are more off the beaten path. The word is they're gonna close down the Van duzen this morning

but keep the eel open for another week. At this point the Guides are playing it close the vest. Nobodys been talking or bragging about where they're finding them. It's getting bad with

the low water and heavy fishing over three weeks has spooked the fish. A good bet this weekend would be to drive to where all the people are and then paddle down river 5-6 miles and

start fishing

So it's a choice between comfort at night, or better possibilities during the day... What are ya thinkin? I have a van that's set up for camping, and a 4wd truck with a shell. I have a rack on both that can accomidate two yaks.

Are we on? If not that's ok too. I've got an alternative in mind, so no problem. I'll check in this evening and if I don't see a note from you I'll assume it's not on.

I'm thinking this looks like a plan for me this weekend.  Where are you putting in Saturday and what time?  I just called the low-flow line and it says "north coast rivers are not subject to low-flow closure at this time..."

I don't see the e mail you refered to?    I've just been asked to work O.T. on Saturday, so I'm on the bubble here. If you get this in the next hour let me know, otherwise I have to go with the O. T.

Eric, I'm thinking of either running from miranda area to the forks or the forks to redcrest or Holmes. I'd like to get the shutle set up by 7-8 am if that's not too early.
