I'm gliding in from the southern coast of Oregon - or the northern coast of Jefferson if we ever get the votes...

I've lurked in NCKA for quite a while and thought I'd come out of the shadows and join up.

I spent part of my younger days at USCG Air Station San Francisco and kayaking rivers in the Sierra's.  Wandered away from the sport - some say I grew up - but here I am again, on the water in a plastic boat...

I've spent several years paddling and fishing freshwater in the coastal streams, and as soon as the surf calms down and the weather clears a bit, I'll be heading out to sea for the first time.  I fish with fly rods almost exclusively, and out to sea with a fly rod should be a Great Adventure.

I'm Kevin.  Happy to be here, and Allen, thank you for letting me in.

Hey Tinker welcome.

I'm looking for a window too for crab/rockfish combo trip, am looking at chetco launch but willing to head up to you. Commercial can drop on the first, so I'm looking at Wednesday or Thursday if the ocean cooperates.

Looking forward to reading about your saltwater-kayak-fly-fishing adventures...
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

Sea might be friendly by then, if another front doesn't make land.  Don't know what's happening around Brookings, but up here, the surf was still a bit big yesterday - possible for someone with skills - and not bad at all once past the surf line.  We're having wicked high tides right now, and the beaches get completely submerged.  Launch/land timing is tricky.

If it weren't for the tides, I'd tell you to head on up.
