I can empathize with Megan. My mother died when the car driven by my dad was T-boned during a thunder storm. Sincerest condolences to Megan and her family.

Condolences to you, Megan and her family. I'm sure it will leave a big hole in their hearts for a long time to come.  You've given us something to think about and appreciate our family more this holiday season.

Sometimes in situations like this, one of the best things you can do is be there. Physically present, but also emotionally available for her. Fight your urge to try to fix it, and just be there. And get flowers often.
Ok enough advice...thanks for the reminder of how precious life is.
