This is MY year it seems, with snow and plenty of it.  I've been able to go ski 4 times so far this season.  I went yesterday (Friday) for some fresh powder and I'll be heading up on Monday when there should be some more freshies after Sunday's predicted storm.

If anyone else skis and is interested in heading up with me on Monday, let me know.  I'll also be going on Friday, the 19th and I 'THINK' I got a BFF (Best Friend Friday) pass, where season pass holders can bring a friend for free on Friday.  (Sierra at Tahoe)

I enjoy skiing anything that can hold snow and I'm hoping that this latest storm will put enough on the ground to head off the trails and into the trees.

I've never had a chance to ski Dodge Ridge.  I've stopped by in the summer while riding my motorcycle up that way.  It looks like it would ski big!

I started skiing there 4 years ago and barely go to Tahoe anymore. It's much smaller and there are no expresses, but traffic and lines (lack of, compared to Tahoe ) make it worth for me. And it's best place to teach kids (i tried many)

Jerry
I'll probably hit you up on the BFF etc after the New Year. Used to do 20-30 days a season before parenthood. My boy's five now and old enough for lessons. I need to get out there a couple times before I start working with him.

Dodge Ridge is OK as long as we are getting plenty of snow and the snow levels stay low. It's the lowest of the resorts and the freeze - thaw - rain cycle can make for less than ideal skiing

Conditions were great yesterday, Monday.  There was about a foot of fresh snow and the temperature never got above 20 degrees.  It was 'squeaky' snow under the skis.  I did every run on the mountain plus the chair lines and some woods skiing.  It's still a little sketchy in the woods, but I didn't hit any rocks, so all is well.  Not very crowded either, but I'm sure that will change when schools and govt offices are closed next week.  I might go Friday again, a BFF Friday for anyone wanting a free pass for that day.  Don't feel the need to ski with me either; I'm very understanding that there are no friends when it comes to skiing or fishing.  Way too much fun to let someone slow you down, get in your way, want to do something other than what you want to do. It's great when desires combine, but no hard feelings when they don't.  If I want to hit the terrain park and you want to ski the trees, then we'll hook back up in a run or three at the chair lift again.  Now days with cell phone coverage and texting, it's not too hard to get separated and back together later.
I'd just hate to see a free ski day go to waste is all.  Ha!

I brought my GoPro-style camera but never turned it on or took a photo.  Heck!  That would take too long to set up and cut into my ski time!  Ha!  I usually have photos when someone is with me I can hand the camera off to.

Forgot to mention every time I stop in Placerville I am surprised at how outgoing and friendly most of the people I meet are. Used to just shoot on through but these days when I can I will stop get some real food and soak up the atmosphere, nice town!
