Wanted to say thank you Jack for making this happen. Another reason NCKA is such a special community

Is there anyway we can petition the NCKA powers to be, to reinstate sledge after he has completed his rehab ? I met him at an event. He definitely seems to have a good heart. I had a bout with alcoholism in my early twenties that I fortunately over came myself ( unfortunately now I suffer from foot in mouth ,aka smart ass disease )  and I also know some folks who weren't able to over come it themselves. I wish sldedge the best in his good fight. !!

Don't you think this would be up to Sledge?  Let him take whatever action he decides to take.  He has not asked.

But please keep in mind that he was banned for a reason.  That reason has never been addressed and would have to be.  Step 9!  I realize a number of you think fondly of Sledge, but I also know a number of you don't care for the guy.

Glad you are not taking sides. I am sure that when the day comes he will ask to come back to the family that I hope all will  forgive. Hopefully it was him offending people morally than financially ?

Thanks for laying it out. All I think we can do is hope that Sledge takes the action he needs, and for those who may dislike Sledge to recognize that he is a flawed person (who the hell isn't) who is making a big effort to be better man than he is. In my mind this fact alone is grounds for goodwill.

I met Sledge a couple months ago at OC and he told me a few stories and about his battle with the bottle.
I could tell he had a good heart and was trying  tt stay sober. I hope he succeeds!

All this kindness is beautiful.. and yes he needs that fish finder and pole holders that were offered up. His pfd looks and smells like he found it at the bottom of a septic tank. This is gonna be a special christmas for brother Sledge.

I don't know that he still believes that, but I will say this... In our conversations, NCKA doesn't really come up, but plenty of the members here do. That is what this special.
The bonds here stretch beyond the internet.

I agree with Allen. Let Sledge ask to come back if he wants to. He's doing great right now as far as I can see.

+1 Wishing him the best.  It seems like he's taking responsibility and that goes a long way in my book. I don't know the circumstances behind what happened  but how we treat others during their time of need says more about us then it does about them. I'm in for $20 and my FF for him. Hoping to see him in the water in 2016 sober.

We hope to give this to Sledge at the ncka north bay christmas gathering on mon dec 14th at paradise sushi in petaluma in case anyone wants to join us. I will post a complete tally and report after.
