Hello everyone...I've spent the summer fishing out of santa cruz, moss, and Monterey loving every minute of it.  However it seems the swell is picking up and my favorite spots near Monterey just aren't producing the fish they did over the summer...that and the swell is getting insane. I realize we only have a month left, but where is good these days?  I look at the swell report for Monterey for this weekend and its double overhead.  I'm assuming there won't be any fish, nor do I want to try and launch in that...  Let's say I launch from moss/santa cruz in a harbor but I still be faced with big swell...will there be fish?

Thanks
David

In addition to the swell, you probably want to pay attention to the tide, especially if you go out of ML. The current there could be so strong that you won't be able to get back home...

Fish are, or can be, impacted by swell depending on the species.  In your case, RF.  Moss can be a PITA to get in/out of if the tide isn't in your favor coming and going + mix in the swell direction & it can be very unsafe.  This year has been a bit "lumpier" than years past; El Nino?  Just have to pick your days, times, tides & locations.
