I got one at Costco, not sure of the model, but it's an automatic one.  I reeeeeeaaaaaalllllly like the automatic one vs. my old one.  If you have a LOT of fish to do, it' makes it really easy.  I also like the pre-made bags, just fill and seal one end.  It's as quick as it gets when processing a lot of meat.

The chamber one sucks the air out of the chamber not the bag.  You can seal liquids if you want.

$500 is expensive but I have seen them for $399. When I get more serious about it I am sure the investment will make things easier.  The one I have now has a car adapter so I can take it with me.  The more expensive one i think will get more air and water out and keep items from getting frost bite longer.  So I am sure I can recover the savings over time.

We butchered chickens in the past and mine was struggling to seal them.  They were ice chilled so if I was able to air chill I don't think it would be as bad an issue for the seal.

Good timing, I was fighting with my old-old POS last night, dreaming of it one day being easy to use.. :smt013
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Costco also has a manual one the FM2100? for $79. got it to replace our automatic one. Sealed up a lot of smoke meats with it. So far it's been solid. Wife likes it better than the automatic one we had

Be careful there. On the manufacturer website, even though Manual is indicated, some descriptions still say fully automatic.

That's pretty much a lock.

Thanks for the idea though, with harvest winding down there might be a steal to be had on cl soon.

Seen MJ packaged with vacuum sealer. Either I didn't they didn't know what they were doing, or there is just no way of doing it, but the buds were compressed tightly.

The manual setting should make that an easy fix. Make sure you they have a manual option next time.
