Aloha,
Looking for a reliable, well maintained used car for my dad.

After his trusty '94 civic got stolen for the 4th time, he wants to get something that is less likely to be stolen.

Dad's requests were:

1. less likely to be stolen
2. something thats around the same length

If anyone is getting ready to sell something, please let me know! Would feel better buying from the NCKA community than from rando CL'ers

Thanks,

Isao

I had a housemate in the city whose Toyota was stolen 4 times, for the seats each time. When she moved in to the house she was driving the car while sitting on a milk crate.

Isao, I may have a line on a 1999 Civic, one owner. I kinda think my buddy sold it already, but I'll check.

Why not just get him one of those club steering wheel locks?

Those 90'S civics are too easy to break into. I had one in Fresno, I lost a few stereos. And one hacksaw cut on the steering wheel and the club pops right off. Don't disregard CL, just be selective. If you aren't a good mchanic, take one with you.
I only fish on days that end with Y

its been stolen with the club and with a brake pedal lock. Pretty sure the car is so easy to lift it becomes almost like sport for whatever a hole that decides to take it for joyrides. :smt013

Did he get it back after the last time it got boosted?  If so, is he interested in selling it?

Need a car for my daughter, she just turned 16 and is ready for me to turn loose on all you poor unsuspecting drivers.

thanks Archie and Pacific, pretty much the only request about what kind of car he got was that it could still fit in the parking spot in front of his place. the max length they came in 94 was 173", and I think the outback and the buick outdo that a fair amount.

I really appreciate the offers though, both sound like they would be ideal if parking was not such a huge PITA in sf.

Mahalo,
